Overview
A platform for turning a high-volume event stream into insights users can act on in the moment. The work spanned architecture, delivery and the hands-on technical leadership needed to take it from concept to production.
The challenge
The existing reporting pipeline was batch-based and slow to change. Teams needed sub-second freshness, a schema that could evolve safely, and a cost profile that scaled with usage rather than headcount.
Approach
- Designed an event-driven core with a clear contract between producers and consumers.
- Introduced a streaming layer for real-time aggregation, with replayable history for correctness.
- Built the delivery model — ownership, observability and rollout — so the team could keep shipping confidently.
Outcome
Real-time insight became a default capability of the product rather than a bolt-on, and the architecture gave the team room to add new data products without re-plumbing.
